Preparing for Telemedicine Call

Things You Should Know Before Having a Consultation Call

Technology & Environment Check

Gather Your Information

What to Expect During the Call

Technology & Environment Check

Test your equipment:

Ensure your device (smartphone, tablet, or computer) has a working camera and microphone. If possible, do a test call with a friend or family member beforehand to check your audio and video quality.

Stable internet:

A strong, reliable Wi-Fi or cellular data connection is crucial to avoid disruptions.

Charge your device:

Make sure your device is fully charged or plugged in, as video calls can drain battery life quickly.

Choose a private space:

Find a quiet, well-lit room where you won’t be interrupted. Good lighting (ideally facing a window or lamp) is essential so your doctor can see you clearly. Use headphones or earbuds to improve sound quality and maintain privacy.

Position your device:

You can set your camera at eye level on a stable surface like a desk or a stack of books. This prevents a wobbly or awkward angle.

Gather Your Information

List of symptoms:

Write down a clear and concise list of your symptoms, including when they started, how severe they are, and anything that makes them better or worse.

Medications and supplements:

Have a list of all your current prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and any vitamins or supplements you take. It’s helpful to have the bottles nearby so you can provide accurate names and dosages.

Medical History:

If this is your first visit with this doctor, please be prepared to discuss your medical history, including any chronic conditions, allergies, and recent lab results or doctor’s visits.

List of questions:

Write down all your questions and concerns in advance. This ensures you don’t forget anything important during the call.

Vital signs:

If you have a home blood pressure cuff, a thermometer, or a pulse oximeter, take your readings right before the appointment.

During the Call

Log in early:

Log in to the virtual waiting room at least 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. This gives you a buffer to resolve any technical issues.

Be Patient:

Just like in a physical office, doctors can sometimes run a little late. Be prepared to wait a few minutes in the virtual waiting room.

Take notes:

Keep a pen and paper handy to jot down important information, such as the treatment plan, any follow-up instructions, and names of new prescriptions.

Be descriptive:

Since the doctor can’t physically examine you, be as descriptive as possible about your symptoms. If you have a rash, an injury, or anything else you can show on camera, be ready to do so.

How this works..

Step 01

Schedule a Consultation

The patient initiates the process by booking a consultation. This is typically done through a clinic’s website or by calling a contact center +923343166645. During this step, the patient selects a doctor or a specialty, chooses a convenient date and time, and provides their personal information, insurance details, and a brief reason for the consultation. Some platforms may also require the patient to complete an online consent form at this stage.

Step 02

Prepare for the Consultation

Once the appointment is confirmed, the patient receives a confirmation via email. This message will often contain a link to the virtual consultation room and instructions on how to access it. Before the appointment, the patient needs to ensure they have the necessary technology (a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and microphone) and a stable internet connection. They may also be advised to

Step 03

Conduct the Teleconsultation

At the scheduled time, the patient logs into the virtual consultation using the provided link. They connect with the doctor via a secure video call. The doctor can then assess the patient’s condition, discuss symptoms and medical history, provide a diagnosis, and recommend a treatment plan. Following the consultation, the doctor may issue an electronic prescription, and the patient may receive a summary of the visit, a payment link, or instructions for follow-up care. In many cases, prescribed medications can be delivered directly to the patient’s home
